Waiting on a Sunny Day

Gonna chase the clouds away
Waitin' on a sunny day

My wife said to me once do you think Bruce has ever written a happy song. This of course stopped me in my tracks and made me pause and think....has he. The answer is probably not, but in the end Bruce's songs, in the main, are songs of hope, the promise of a better day.

Waitin on a sunny day does have a light lilt to the tune, and it is a song of hope and of love.....and its the closest I could get to a sunny day song within the Springsteen catalogue!

Of course we had a spectacularly sunny day today, not hot, probably 20 degrees, but just perfect for travelling and walking. We drove up to Mt Lofty which gives you brilliant 180 views of Adelaide and the coast. We did a 8km walk from the summit down to the waterfalls, which doesn't sound like much, but it was almost vertical so legs are a little weary after that plus yesterdays bike ride. As far as I know we are the only people today who did this track in thongs.

Sore legs will be assisted by the spa in the accomodation booked in Hahndorf tonight, so looks like I'm back in first grade! The little woman is in a little pain, but a trooper none the less.

Hahndorf is a german town in the Adelaide Hills, settled by the Germans, so steins of lager tonight, German sausage and no mentioning of the war!
Bruce's first concert in Sydney tonight, I'm sure Colby from WSC and the Mayor of Davistown are getting very excited, waitin, waitin.......
